FLOW Formal Alliance 2012 SPRING LINES

September 30th, 2011

Ralph Lauren Lisbon
FLOW Formal Alliance unveiled images from their Spring 2012 Ralph Lauren, Joseph Abboud & Calvin Klein tuxedo rental lines on Thursday to rave reviews.

The My Fabulous Day team previewed the entire line in August at Formal Fashion Week which included exquisite, slim fitted and very energetic pieces. A lot of gorgeous patterns and bright colors was the focus of the line. While in Atlanta, we had the pleasure of chatting with Eric Weintraub, Vice President of Flow and gained a unique perspective on what it's like from inside a company with labels such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin & Abboud.  HIs enthusiasm for the industry and passion for life in general was so refreshing! "We are excited to offer our retailers the brands that we know will increase business and look forward to a very successful 2012 season!"

Moda is the Talk of the Town....

Gino Guarnieri
Moda Moda Moda.......

My Fabulous Day recently sat down with Gino Guarnieri, owner of Geno's Formal Affair, Lexington, KY.  He is certainly looked upon as a leading retailer & wholesaler in the formalwear industry for his "Out of the Box" approach to style & fashion and all things formal.  During our interview, he beamed as he talked about the new coat collection appropriately named Moda (fashion in Italian).  Moda is a partnership between himself, Jean Yves and available exclusively at My Fabulous Day Retailers from across the country.  "The style is something new, fresh, very fitted and offers today's trendy guy a fashion option when renting his tuxedo. Guys just do not want their father's tuxedo and we are listening" stated Guarnieri.

Black Moda
Maurice Silva, Vice President of Formal Wear International, manufacturer of the Moda Collection, shared with My Fabulous Day that he and Gino were having dinner and he listened as Gino casually described his idea for the perfect tuxedo.  "Guarnieri never asked me to make the coat directly but by the end of the conversation I felt I could deliver exactly the garment he wanted and proceeded to make the sample hoping to earn his business.  A few months later I sent him the coat and the rest is history" quoted Maurice.

The collection consist of 5 color options: Black, Charcoal Grey, Heather Grey, Sand, and Chocolate Brown and available at your local My Fabulous Day Retailer

So far, the Fall 2011 season is filled with plenty of tuxedo styles for our beautiful men type but how about some love for the ladies??? This question is being put to the test at Fashion Week in NYC.

Designer Ralph Lauren, went for the full look with a head-to-toe suit replete with a bowtie and sexy red peep-toe pumps, earrings and pout.

Alexander Wang paired a sheer bib-front dress with detailed leather trousers; Prabal Gurung sent his sassy lady down the runway in a cummerbund and grosgrain-ribbon-adorned blouse.

What are your thoughts? Can the ladies of 2011 pull off this empowering tuxedo look???
Personally we think they can!!!

A "Situation" for Tuxedos

A set of circumstances in which one finds oneself; a state of affairs (per Webster)...so this is a "situation" that the Formalwear Industry finds itself.  A new line of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino tuxedos is set to be apart of the new designer labels available for the 2012 tuxedo season.  The first initial reaction is showing a good response. We will keep you posted on the new looks as soon as images as available.

Formal Fashion Week!

On August 15th 2011, the Southern Independent Formalwear Association and International Prom Association teamed up to host the first annual Formal Fashion Week,  a week long networking / buying event designed to showcase today's top formalwear suppliers.  The highly-anticipated event drew nearly 400 attendees from most every state!

Highlights of Formal Fashion Week included a runway show, featuring such labels as Calvin Klein, Jean Yves, Ralph Lauren, Joseph Abboud and more, a Black Tie Gala benefitting the USO, which raised over $12,000, and many networking events offering retailers the latest on social media and marketing for 2012.

Feedback from Formal Fashion Week has been overwhelmingly positive; participants found the event to be “amazing” and “a wonderful buying experience.” One retailer was quoted as saying "This is the best show I've attended in over 10 years"!
