Find the most Flattering Tuxedo

You may think....

that all tuxedos are the same but they are certainly not! Your groom needs to show off his sense of style with the perfect fitting tuxedo. How do you know if his Tuxedo fits right?

Keep these tips in mind when choosing the tuxedo for your fabulous groom!
Tall & Thin
Congratulations. You can wear just about any
tuxedo, from contemporary styles -- like single breasted four button jackets -- to a more classic, double-breasted tuxedo with broad shoulders One caveat: Make sure your trouser legs and jacket arms are long enough.

Athletic
Go for a smooth, clean look without a lot of frills. Avoid double-breasted jackets which add volume. If you have a large waist, consider wearing a vest. Keep in mind that black has a slimming effect, which makes the classic tux perfect for you. If you’re extremely muscular, be aware of sizing, especially around your neck. You don’t want to feel like your bow tie is strangling you.

Short and Slim
Avoid styles that look too large on your frame. Steer clear of double-breasted jackets. Instead, go for a two- or three-button jacket with a low button stance (it elongates the body), paired with classic tuxedo pants.

Short and Athletic
Stick with a single-breasted jacket. Go for a classic one or two button jacket with a low-button stance which will keep your look streamlined and slim. If you have a heavy waist, choose a vest to draw attention away from your waistline and up toward your face. And once again, remember that black
has a slimming effect, which makes the classic tux perfect for you.

An Evening With Ralph Lauren

A star-studded crowd filled New York’s Lincoln Center for ‘An Evening With Ralph Lauren’ hosted by Oprah Winfrey—a lavish black-tie affair celebrating the designer’s career and benefiting his cancer foundation

Hollywood celebrities and fashion’s biggest stars headed to Lincoln Center in New York on Monday night for An Evening With Ralph Lauren hosted by media queen Oprah Winfrey. The black-tie event supported The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, while the glamorous guest list included Jessica Alba, Uma Thurman, Barbara Walters, designer Tory Burch and Jerry Seinfeld.  The black-tie event raised more than $7 million for the Ralph Lauren Center For Cancer Care and Prevention in Harlem and Lincoln Center For the Performing Arts.

Designers showered Lauren with praise. “He inspires me in so many ways,” said Tory Burch, who staged her first official runway show in the Alice Tully Hall lobby in September. “It’s amazing to think what he’s done for our industry and for philanthropy. ”While Lauren’s has garnered a reputation as “classic” (a word  he deems somewhat “boring”) and quintessentially American, the designer himself embodies the American sensibility more than his clothes.

Winfrey introduced Lauren, saying “He designed the fabric of America as we really all know it today, but we’re here tonight because Ralph Lauren is more than just a tastemaker — he’s a lifesaver," before asking him about how he's maintained and reinvented his brand over so many years: "You copy — that's why I am still here, Oprah," he quipped, drawing laughter. More seriously, he added: “I never went to fashion school, I never had the training. It came from inside. I know what it’s like to yearn for something and not have the money to buy it." He also admitted: "After doing this all this time, my hands still get sweaty before a show."

Color is the Fashion Spotlight for 2012

Synergy Vest Collection

Color is the Fashion Spotlight for 2012

Even though Spring feels so far away and football season just got started, it's always good to keep ahead of the trends. So what will all you brides & grooms be wearing in 2012? One answer... Anything with color: metallics, neons, blues, yellows — if it's bright, we want it!!

"The colors for 2012 are very romantic, but also very wearable, and will be the focus of most formalwear stores in 2012"  stated Mike Denton, owner of International Prom Association. "A lot of great color, brights, hot pinks, neons, beautiful blues, but the whole range from a sweet misty blue to a dark strong peacock, pops of yellow and pretty neutrals is the early trend we are seeing" quoted Denton.

Among all the shimmer, My Fabulous Day retailers have an exciting new exclusive tie collection to brag about.  Synergy, a Flow Formal Alliance rental vest collection, considered by most the authority for all things "color" in formalwear, confirmed the ties will be offered in metallics and all the fun colors for spring. Noel Feldman, President of Flow, told My Fabulous Day today that the samples are being made and will be here in time for the photo shoot later this month!
