The only event of its kind, Formal Fashion Week in association with Americasmart's World of Prom show, is a unique opportunity to hear from the people who create formal fashion at it's finest! ALL UNDER ONE ROOF!

In the case of Joseph Abboud, whose collection featured fabric superposition and pure lines, we think this look will be a "spot on" trend for 2014.  

The Ike Behar silhouette is absolutely breathtaking! A beautiful yet very classic design! We can't wait to see more from this designer!  

Accessories are a very important detail in men's formalwear and we rely on trusted designer Larr Brio for new looks and colors every year! Shown above is the Romance Collection and only available at My Fabulous Day retailers!   

Allure Men by Jean Yves, who partnered with Allure Bridals last year to create a new men's line for Allure has been very well received this spring. With Allure, we feel they have found the perfect balance between simplicity and complexity when designing their bridal and tuxedo line.

Formal Fashion Week 2013, in a word, FABULOUS! 

We saw luxurious new looks from designer Micheal Kors,

a gorgeous new slate blue from Allure Men by Jean Yves and 

 a beautiful new cutaway from Fabian Couture. Not to mention dress designer such as 

Sherri Hill, Tony Bowls, Night Moves Prom, LaFemme and many more, 

ALL under one roof! 

One glamourous highlight of the week was the International Promise Foundation 

Black Tie Gala, a charity event which raises money for teens in need. We would like to personally

Elizabeth Taylor & Conrad Nicky Hilton 

The dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor at her first wedding is to be auctioned by Christie's in London, and is expected to fetch up to $50,000. Taylor wore the iconic gown, made by costume designer Helen Rose, for her 1950 wedding to Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton Jr, when she was just 18 years old. The original waist measured 20 inches, but it has since been taken out to a slightly more generous 22.

Grace Kelly

Sweetheart of Hollywood Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. The wedding sealed a legendary and whirlwind romance for the couple.

As one of the twentieth century’s most celebrated style icons, Jackie O’s wedding dress has become the most photographed in American history. As wife to 35th US president John F Kennedy, she became the most stylish First Lady of all time.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles

When Diana Spencer married Prince Charles in 1980, the wedding pictures became the images that defined an era. The dress, which spawned a decade of meringues, was designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel and featured a 25 foot train and 10,000 hand sewn pearls and sequins.

Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola 

Mariah Carey wed her mentor in 1993 at New York's St. Thomas Episcopal Church before 300 guests, including Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Billy Joel. Carey's Vera Wang gown, complete with a 27-foot-long train, cost $25,000 back in 1993!      

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes 

The couple's lavish 2006 nuptials took place in an Italian castle in Bracciano. The ceremony was attended by Hollywood's A-list , including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and David and Victoria Beckham, who watched the bride & groom walk down the aisle in a Giorgio Armani and feasted on a five-tiered white chocolate wedding cake.

A small-town Oklahoma girl turned country superstar, Carrie Underwood has already led a storybook life and on July 10th, 2010 the singer walked down the aisle to exchange vows with her Canadian hockey-pro groom Mike Fisher. She wanted something grand and magical," says Monique Lhuillier, who custom-designed Underwood's gown, adorning the skirt with more than 3,000 handmade silk organza flowers dusted with crystals.

It is a well known fact that it is the responsibility and honor of the bride's father to walk his princess down the aisle, presenting her at the altar to her future husband, and then later sharing a dance. We’re in the midst of serious Gatsby fever. Baz Luhrmann’s reinterpretation is hitting the silver screen in May, and talk of everything from the music to the glitz is all around. But, it's the costumes that have us in a tailspin!! The classic but incredibly stylish tuxedos and suits are a must see! The movie is going to be in theaters May 10, 2013, Personally I think we should dress up to the nines and attending opening night in style!! 

Ring Bearers Make the Way

For some couples having children in the wedding is important and for others it's out of the question! If your planning to have kids here are some tips to ensure they look their best on the big day! 

• Choose children you know very well.
• Children between the ages of 4 - 8 usually do best during the ceremony.
•  Have them fitted for clothing no earlier than 3 months in advance. 
•  Make certain they try on their clothes the week of the wedding.
• On the wedding day, relax and enjoy how precious they are!
