Perfect Fit Tuxedo Tips

Tuxedo Hem No-No's!
The differences between the tux you rent from a big box retailer and the one you get from a My Fabulous Day tuxedo specialist are too many to count! We assure you it will fit like a glove and can alter onsite to make this happen.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when looking for a perfect fit:
1. The shoulder seams should hit at the actual shoulder, the sleeves don't come past your thumbs.
2. You shouldn't fit more than a fist in between the fastened jacket and your chest.
3. As for the pants, a little break is okay; a lot of break is unacceptable.

So remember these above tips, rent from a My Fabulous Day specialist and always try-on your tuxedo before leaving the store to ensure a perfect fit every time!

Perfect Fit Tuxedo!

Do all men think… I’m a big guy so I have to have big clothes? It's so not true! Close to the body does not mean uncomfortable.” Look at LeBron James, The Rock and Tom Brady to name a few! They look amazing in their tuxedos (and everyday clothes too) but wouldn't dream of a baggy suit! What’s weird is that guys spend all this time within the culture of the gym, getting toned, fit bodies, and then they wear suit coats that are two sizes too big!, Why not show off all that hard work!

Jean Yves Fitted Twlight Tuxedo

Tailored is your friend,” Remember this next time you are in need of formalwear! Wether your getting married, shopping for prom or just a night out on the town, you can find a varity of fitted tuxedo styles at your local My Fabulous Day retailer!

Find the most Flattering Tuxedo

You may think....

that all tuxedos are the same but they are certainly not! Your groom needs to show off his sense of style with the perfect fitting tuxedo. How do you know if his Tuxedo fits right?

Keep these tips in mind when choosing the tuxedo for your fabulous groom!
Tall & Thin
Congratulations. You can wear just about any
tuxedo, from contemporary styles -- like single breasted four button jackets -- to a more classic, double-breasted tuxedo with broad shoulders One caveat: Make sure your trouser legs and jacket arms are long enough.

Athletic
Go for a smooth, clean look without a lot of frills. Avoid double-breasted jackets which add volume. If you have a large waist, consider wearing a vest. Keep in mind that black has a slimming effect, which makes the classic tux perfect for you. If you’re extremely muscular, be aware of sizing, especially around your neck. You don’t want to feel like your bow tie is strangling you.

Short and Slim
Avoid styles that look too large on your frame. Steer clear of double-breasted jackets. Instead, go for a two- or three-button jacket with a low button stance (it elongates the body), paired with classic tuxedo pants.

Short and Athletic
Stick with a single-breasted jacket. Go for a classic one or two button jacket with a low-button stance which will keep your look streamlined and slim. If you have a heavy waist, choose a vest to draw attention away from your waistline and up toward your face. And once again, remember that black
has a slimming effect, which makes the classic tux perfect for you.

New Styling For 2012

DTF Avalon
Flow Formal Alliance released their new tuxedo rental line designed by Mike the “Situation” Sorrentino this summer. Flow is home to labels such as Calvin Klein, Joseph Abboud & Ralph Lauren. The popularity and distribution of the Avalon continues to grow.

Dante Zeller Tuxedo, My Fabulous Day retailer in New York & New Jersey, polled bridal stores at recent bridal market in NYC and the new style received rave reviews. "Many buyers commented that it would be a fabulous prom coat and also felt it would be a great choice for a fashion conscious bride & groom!" quoted Nick Pietroniero, owner of Dante Zeller.

My Fabulous Day is shooting later this week and the Avalon is definitely on the shot list! Want to see behind the scenes images and videos from the shoot??? Check back on Thursday!! :D

So far, the Fall 2011 season is filled with plenty of tuxedo styles for our beautiful men type but how about some love for the ladies??? This question is being put to the test at Fashion Week in NYC.

Designer Ralph Lauren, went for the full look with a head-to-toe suit replete with a bowtie and sexy red peep-toe pumps, earrings and pout.

Alexander Wang paired a sheer bib-front dress with detailed leather trousers; Prabal Gurung sent his sassy lady down the runway in a cummerbund and grosgrain-ribbon-adorned blouse.

What are your thoughts? Can the ladies of 2011 pull off this empowering tuxedo look???
Personally we think they can!!!
