2012 PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR

Dance into the New Year with this Vivacious and Appealing Reddish Orange
Tangerine & Everyday
The 2011 color of the year, PANTONE 18-2120 Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” Over the past several years, orange has grown in popularity and acceptance among designers and consumers alike. A provocative attention-getter, Tangerine Tango is especially appealing in men’s and women’s fashion. Fashion designers featured in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2012, including Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore, Cynthia Steffe by Shaun Kearney, Elie Tahari and Adrienne Vittadini, are incorporating this attractive orange into their spring collections. A fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue, Tangerine Tango will surely carry through to fall fashion as well.
Tangerine & Make-Up
A winner in cosmetics because of its versatility, Tangerine Tango is a bit exotic, but in a very friendly, non-threatening way. Add a sultry flair to lips, cheeks and nails with Tangerine Tango. An unexpected eye shadow color, Tangerine Tango is a complementary opposite that flatters blue or green eyes. When paired with brown eyes, it brings out an amber cast.
Tangerine & Formalwear
Energize your wedding party with Tangerine Tango accessories! From the vest & tie to the pocket square or socks, tangerine will make a perfect wedding color for 2012!

Color is the Fashion Spotlight for 2012

Synergy Vest Collection

Color is the Fashion Spotlight for 2012

Even though Spring feels so far away and football season just got started, it's always good to keep ahead of the trends. So what will all you brides & grooms be wearing in 2012? One answer... Anything with color: metallics, neons, blues, yellows — if it's bright, we want it!!

"The colors for 2012 are very romantic, but also very wearable, and will be the focus of most formalwear stores in 2012"  stated Mike Denton, owner of International Prom Association. "A lot of great color, brights, hot pinks, neons, beautiful blues, but the whole range from a sweet misty blue to a dark strong peacock, pops of yellow and pretty neutrals is the early trend we are seeing" quoted Denton.

Among all the shimmer, My Fabulous Day retailers have an exciting new exclusive tie collection to brag about.  Synergy, a Flow Formal Alliance rental vest collection, considered by most the authority for all things "color" in formalwear, confirmed the ties will be offered in metallics and all the fun colors for spring. Noel Feldman, President of Flow, told My Fabulous Day today that the samples are being made and will be here in time for the photo shoot later this month!

Formal Fashion Week features Black Tie Gala

Southern Independent Formalwear Association and International Prom Association are proud to take part in the inaugural initiative of International Promise Foundation.

International Promise Foundation was created as a means of giving back directly to the concerns of our industry's social audience.  Much discussion and consideration have gone into our first initiative that evolves around the service families of nearly 2.5 million armed service members.  Each of these families bare one common thread that links them directly to us all, teen children.  In the, anything but normal, lifestyles that teenagers face everyday, those of service families face the added pressures of deployments, relocations, separations and even broken families.  That is why International Promise Foundation has chosen the USO and its teen outreach our first initiative.  The USO reaches out to these teens of military families through various social networks and web based technology.

The initiative will kick off with our Black Tie Gala on Tuesday, August 16, 6pm til 9pm at AmericasMart Atlanta.  A combination of the talent of the USO Liberty Bells, Annual Retailers Choice Awards, Silent Auction Benefit, and the elegance of the Black Tie Gala will make this event a wonderful addition to Formal Fashion Week 2012.
