Fabulous Celebrity Weddings Then & Now...

Elizabeth Taylor & Conrad Nicky Hilton 

The dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor at her first wedding is to be auctioned by Christie's in London, and is expected to fetch up to $50,000. Taylor wore the iconic gown, made by costume designer Helen Rose, for her 1950 wedding to Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton Jr, when she was just 18 years old. The original waist measured 20 inches, but it has since been taken out to a slightly more generous 22.

Grace Kelly
Sweetheart of Hollywood Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. The wedding sealed a legendary and whirlwind romance for the couple.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles

When Diana Spencer married Prince Charles in 1980, the wedding pictures became the images that defined an era. The dress, which spawned a decade of meringues, was designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel and featured a 25 foot train and 10,000 hand sewn pearls and sequins.


Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola 

Mariah Carey wed her mentor in 1993 at New York's St. Thomas Episcopal Church before 300 guests, including Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Billy Joel. Carey's Vera Wang gown, complete with a 27-foot-long train, cost $25,000 back in 1993!

The couple's lavish 2006 nuptials took place in an Italian castle in Bracciano. The ceremony was attended by Hollywood's A-list , including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and David and Victoria Beckham, who watched the bride & groom walk down the aisle in a Giorgio Armani and feasted on a five-tiered white chocolate wedding cake. 

Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher 

A small-town Oklahoma girl turned country superstar, Carrie Underwood has already led a storybook life and on July 10th, 2010 the singer walked down the aisle to exchange vows with her Canadian hockey-pro groom Mike Fisher. 
She wanted something grand and magical," says Monique Lhuillier, who custom-designed Underwood's gown, adorning the skirt with more than 3,000 handmade silk organza flowers dusted with crystals.

  1. My sister suggested that I should order a size down--being an 8-10 with a C cup, I got an 8, and it's pretty good. (I got a red dress) it was thin, and needed some ironing.
